I have mentioned this to a few people in the past, but not many. Both of my sons with me are Autistic. Tristin is 5, Tayden will be 4 next month. Both have a pretty severe delay in learning, but they are both in a special school... and it's helping.
I guess when you are "use" to something, you look at it differently. I don't feel bad for them, nor understand why others do. To me, they are just my kids. Tristins challenges are strictly a learning delay. Nothing too broad spectrum wise. Tayden is the same, except he has an autistic tendancy called "stimming". Basically, an uncontrollable physical reaction. Some kids stim when they are happy, some angry.... it's all about the kid. No true pattern. Tayden stims only when he is really happy. He does it daily around 100 or so times. I took a video today and figured I'd post it. Me and my family never really look at it as an autistic tendency as much as we look it as his cute personality.
Everyone that see it can't help but smile because they know... if hes stimming, hes happy
