Hiding from the World
Written By: Jacob Goodin
My love hurts,
To love another.
Your absence hurts more,
I don’t know if I can hold on.
Time is precious, Can’t always get it back.
But you will not be mine.
Understand this, I am not ashamed.
I will be yours if I can,
But I cannot sit behind closed doors,
And only love you when you’re near.
I cannot put on a fake mask of emotions,
To hide myself from the world, my true feelings.
And you’re asking me to shy away,
Doesn’t make me feel good at all.
You have your reasons,
I have mine,
You want to be happy and in love,
But you don’t have the time.
You worry about how others feel,
You got to live for yourself,
You got to live the real.
Before life takes me away,
I want to stay,
But these pictures of my life get old,
As I look at them every night,
Wanting you to hold.
But I am still hiding from the world,
For you. So you can make it through,
I just can’t wait forever.
