My Roots Hold Me
Written By: Jacob Goodin
As I see you come and go,
Inside this feeling, I feel it grow,
So much you wouldn’t know,
Because that’s what’s inside of me.
Something calls, I hear it ring,
It’s your voice, I hear you sing.
You have come to see me,
Only in my eyes you can see.
As a planted flower I remain still,
Just watching the world around me,
Trying to understand my life and my will,
I just wait for the right moment to be.
My voice is heard by people, who listen,
As we take the time to share a memory,
I don’t try to invade, unless there no explanation.
For I call to you now,
In realization of my true destiny,
If only I could speak,
I’d go with you now,
But my roots hold me.
I’m wilting now to a certain shade of dead,
But you would never see me frown,
Because you’d be holding me instead.
