Something you may or may not know about me.... Im not someone that shows pride in many things in life. I don't boast about anything really, I don't think of myself as any better then anyone.... But. The one thing I can do, typically, more efficiently then most is tell a story. I am proud of my wit and thought process when it comes to putting words together that are not just riveting, but intriguing. I may not have the best spelling, I may not make the best joke.... but I will always, always keep you interested if that is my goal. This time, it is.
I implore you to read on.
A little background to set this all up properly. I love my mother. I truly believe she has been an inspiration to me and my sister in many ways.... including educationally. I was never "pushed" in school, but I never really needed it. I never had to go to her really about school projects or for help, but I knew she was always there.... and better yet, would always have the correct answer. Her education process was a struggle over all in her life considering a lot of medical problems her brothers had growing up. She was unable to be completely committed to her studies as she would have liked to be. At a fairly young age, due to my birth, she had to quit school and become a full time mother. Most people in that situation never recover. Once you leave school at a young age.... you are unable to get back into focus to continue your educational path at a later time. Again, she stands above the rest. She, being out of school for almost 20 years and with no formal training, was able to ..... at 35 years old, score a 94% on her GED state test. To this day, she gloats about it.... although, if you know her and how intelligent she is.... it wouldn't surprise you to see, or hear, her score that high.
She is currently a manager at a very reputable medical billing/medical device provider company for many years. This is not entry level type of work. She went to school for it and graded off the charts. Basically, in her school.... she was the curve.
On to the next part. A friend of my mothers for many years, who feels "obligated" to purchase things for Christmas for everyone..... bought my lil sister (pWp*A$H) an ipod touch. 8 gig.... very nice present...amazing device. Me being an ipod junkie at heart, I started looking up online different apps and things you could do. Very quickly I found out how to hack/unlock it for pirated apps/games/other things. I read about it for the better part of the evening to know exactly how and what to do. The last thing I wanted was to break this exquisite piece of technology. Alas, I figured it all out. The itouch is unlocked.... let the pirate software downloads begin!!!!!!
I started looking at paid apps that I could get free and found so many. Funny apps, cool apps.... just down right bad ass apps. One that I came across was based on a game I always found interesting...... 20 questions. The basic concept is... you think of a word.... anything (pg rated). The device asks you questions, you simply reply yes or no. After 20 questions, the device try to predict your word. I got to say, its fairly accurate. I have actually been dumbfounded at times with this "games" ability...
Back to the story... I found that app while browsing. My sister also has had it a few times and saw it on the screen. "Oooh 20 questions!!!, Get that!" She said. Being the amazing brother I am.... I clicked it.. I downloaded around 20 games and decided it was getting late and she should have time to have fun with her new ithouch before bed.... So I unhooked and handed it over.
Some of you play games with headphones, so you hould understand this next part. Every time someone talks to me during a game with headphones on... I ignore them. It's a 2 part reason. 1... "I have headphones on, I want you to think I cant hear you"... 2 I wanna have them try and talk quite until they actually work at getting my attention so I can hear the question "you didn't hear a word I said did you?"... In which I can reply..... "um, I got headphones on, you tell me". That line typically shuts the person up fast
Anyway, after giving back the itouch.... I went to quake live to play some Christmas CTF. New, fun map. Try it fast if you havent. I heard my mom and sister talking about the apple device behind me. Talking about games, apps, music.... My sister said "oh, lets try 20 questions". I lost intrest in their convo but I could hear my lil sister hitting her with a barrage of questions, one after the other....but I went back to concentrating on ice skating at the new qlive map. Now remember.... the point of 20Q is the device asks you questions, you answer the best you can, honestly... it guesses your word. During my quake game I hear behind me from a distance.... "jeff"..... "Jeff"..... "JEFF!!!" I looked back..... "What?!?!..." I said...
My mother so innocently and politely asked....
"Do Giraffes lay eggs?"
