New game...

... I need suggestions to find one.

Here is what I like/don't like:

1. Has to be something I can't "acquire" elsewhere. So it needs to have multiplayer that's locked by CD key. No "cracked server" bs.
2. Has to come from the Steam Store.
3. More then one person here needs to be active with it.
4. Not a huge fan of MMORPG.
5. Prefer shooters, but I'm open to most other game types.
6. Not a huge fan of Zombie games, but I haven't played many..... so it would need to be a good game.
7. Needs to be something that has a game play video on either Steam or Youtube so I can look into it.
8. Needs to be under or around $40.00.
9. Sports games would be fine if others have them.
10. Something that the multi player is active, but also has a strong single player story line.

PC only games.

This is one game I looked into a bit, seemed fun maybe and a 4 pack is 44$.



Any games sold in packs on Steam would be good if not many have it. I can find a way to give away some to others.
I'll try and reply to each suggestion to help narrow it down.

and a few othjers not really worth mentioning.

I didnt get BC2, but I got the gift set of the rest of them... not bad, but having 5 military games, id rather something different.

oh.. i know.. get quake 3! =O!

I forgot to mention, the other day I did buy the Hitman collection on steam.

Hitman 2: Silent Assassin
Hitman: Blood Money
Hitman: Code Name 47

They were $30 but marked down to $7 total. So for $7 I figured why not for 3 games.

L4D is pretty fun to play though with some other people, borderlands too. Group co-op games are always the shit.

I was actually about to say L4D(no surprise), it meets some of the criteria you mentioned, but it is a zombie game. IMO one of the better ones, but you may not agree. Pretty active online play, I still play single player every once in awhile just to get better for online play. Only issue with it is if you play online you'll get kicked from games a lot for "lack of skill" or "too much skill" and it's rather annoying. :/

That I can't say, is CSS able to be "acquired?" If not, then I don't think L4D can be.

CSS can't be.

Can only get L4D (and css) online but only single player will work (or lan / virtual lan). L4D is more to do with online though, I've never even played the single player lol.

what merky is trying to say in his weird brit ways is... most ppl buy L4D to play online rather then the single player ...

He actually meant you cant "acquire" l4d and still play online. You need a key... thats how css is and most new games.

could have swore i seen cracked servers for L4D... although i could be wrong...

With L4D, if you "acquire it" you can play online with people you know using virtual lan settings, with programs like hamachi. It's a pain in the ass and will only work if you're playing with people you know (and they all have it set up, ports forwarded on router etc).
I do not like zombie games, I actually hate them. L4D is the ONLY exception I have ever made because co-op is so fun!

Smoke, Shad, and I use to use hamachi for Borderlands. Once you get it set up, it's great. with BL, it works the best because your levels/game still saves everything you do and can bring it to online play if you later get the real key....... but I don't want to go through that again or play any games on cracked servers.

i played borderlands on the 360. :p i got it for the pc. just never bothered to play it yet.

I have yet to see a cracked server while playing L4D nor have I ran into someone with an "acquired" copy of it, all the people I've run into bought it. Granted there aren't a whole lot of people who play it, nor have I played a whole lot of time in the game(roughly 50 or so hrs since I bought the game). Almost everytime I play a versus match, I run into someone I met the first time I played vs, and continued to find just about once everyday.
