A new update is in the works and will soon be released. In this update (which I hope it includes our forum version) they will have the 'like' button in the forums for facebook.

Been wanting this for a while but with a free host you are limited and besides that we are having a difficult time leaving this host since they don't hand out the data base or else the site would be loaded with features, mods and other awesome stuff.

Ya Very Happy

There was a big thread about it on their forums and I was helping out on it where one of the guys leaked out the info.
Anyways I think I can still get that guy to switch the host if you want. I can log onto the utilities and back up the whole forum so even if he isn't honest we can recover stuff. OR we can lock these forums create new ones and post this on the new one as a historical archive.

Here is an example of what I mean.

Atari did this with their forums as you can see by the text near the top of the page.http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/index.php

I believe there's an auto redirect option for forumotion though. So if they type the .org, they will be redirected where ever we have it set.

I am not sure if the redirect will redirect every link on the site, as far as I know. I am sure you can set it to specific link and we can use www.pwpclan.org/forums as the archive.

The thing to consider is, what features are we missing and what would the actual impact of them would be if we implemented them? Forumotion is trustworthy, safe, reliable, and pretty flexible on what you can do. Is the hassle and... tackyness(?)... of starting over and losing 4 years of data and stats worth it for a facebook like button?

NOOO The mods for phpbb3 are insane. We can implement a warning system that warns on click of a button instead of changing it manually, have anti double posts, awards, a shop, donation center, create revenue from ads instead of them getting sent to forumotion, forum would be way more customizable and much much much more.

Not only that you won't lose any post count admins can change users post counts to what they were left with on this forum.
So after all this that is just ONE out of like three options. If we can get a good forum ripper we can transfer the data base. I have a guy that can do it though.
