Farming Help :/

hey all so can anyone offer some farming tips to a noob at MineCraft?

Cuz i just discovered the game, loving it, and, to tell you how far i am, i just found iron.

So im thinking of making a farm, for my underground house that i made out of a cave i found. So my current plan is to build a long-ass tunnel that will connect my main house/shelter/cave to another farm room, probably 7x7 and 3 blocks high. i'll make a hole in the middle and dump some water in there. plus the tunnel will have a minecart and rails and stuff..... ok gtg ty ill be applying for quake live clan in 2 weeks.. ty

I'm not sure exactly what you need help with. I must just not be understanding.

What kind of farm are you building? Depending on what you are farming determines how to make it....and as far as getting water there, you just need a bucket of water and a place built to hold the water.

Different things may need things set differently.

OR if you are good with red stone wiring and pistons you can make an auto farm that does the work for you.

Look up farms on youtube.

Walls aren't needed. Those are more pathways then anything. Although, mobs can damage farms.

Most people either use glass block (like a green house) or fence around them. But nothing is "necessary".
