In The Eyes Of A Romantic
Living each day as though my last
What I say is true
Forget all lost in the past
Know now I love you
Keeping my world sane
With a gift that takes my breath
A touch gives me hope
And a kiss to all is left
Must this continue?
Constant fret of being alone
Without the flame to see
Left the sense of a drone
These thoughts never cease
I dream all day and night
Please wipe these worried tears
Say it will be all right
Trapped inside my own heart
Looking into an endless sea
Drowning in my own life
But soon shall be set free
The look in your eyes
Tells the story of a life
Share with me the facts
The future is yet to die
Even when all is said
The chance of nothing done
I will not stand idly by
And let you be the only one
I speak these words in vain
Most of them because I care
When you find the lighted tunnel
At the end I will be there
Do not leave your world
Without me entering once more
The greatest passion I have known
Your love is enough to live for
In the eyes of a romantic
A perfect silhouette in hue
I plead you to lift my hope
And know my words are true
Gazing on these expressions
Remember I love you still
The hurt of another loss too great
You are my fire, my life, and my will
I will end this tiring chapter
With a softer sounding tune
Will our worlds ever collide again?
Or is this question too soon
--------------------------------------
Walking Tall
With the world held high
And my head on straight
I wait as day turns to night
Where I finally escape
In this world which I despise
The outcome can only be fear
What they believe is no lie
Since it is only what is here
Some will contain a loyal rage
Some will strike their own guilt
Some will wither in their cage
To release the tension built
Walking tall with no ship to sink
With the world held so very high
Spending the days free to think
And dreaming of you in the night
-------------------------------------
This poem I sent to my ex-girlfriend Rachel..
All For You
This vision is not vague
For I see it everyday
In my mind, in my heart,
In everyone else apart.
Rewinding dates like a machine
Trying to prove what I believe,
But nothing seems to phase
What has become a haze.
This vision that I tell
Leads my heart to hell.
It grips on the hope left
Toying it along the cliff,
Letting all sense of peace
Become a meager tease.
What occurs in my mind
Is something so unkind.
Pretending false hope,
To reunite and not cope.
To have a hand to hold,
To make a wish so bold.
To turn a fire so cold
Into this romance told.
May this idea be such true
Without allowing blurred view
To prejudge a scene
Of something utterly mean.
I am no storybook tale.
I am no beautiful veil.
I am no wonderous rose,
I am only a man with woes.
The future I know lies
Right in front of my eyes.
Take a moment to breathe.
Think of what I mean.
If I were not a sorry liar
Would I try rekindling this dead fire?
If I were not a loving dog
Would I seek passion through this fog?
If I did not intend to keep
Words I have said so deep,
If I did not plan to stay
And turn darkness to day,
If I did promise to mend,
To make dreams true again,
All for you my dear,
Then what is left to fear?
