My ex and I wrote these poems to each other a couple summers ago..
Schizophrenic Love (Hers)
Locked and cannot escape
Shattered skies of endless gray
Drowning in the tears
Memories just wash away
Strange faces I once knew
Torn apart bit by bit
Secrets never told
In a storm that will not quit
Shivers down my spine
Carry on without a care
Overlook what shouldn’t exist
Eyes see only despair
Sunshine may revisit
But will not forever remain
The darkness will return
And again the light shall drain
Contradiction Of Your Words (Mine)
I never know what to say
Even though I pretend like I do
Everyday I share my feelings
It makes me feel closer to you
You don’t realize the effect
That your smile provides
I can’t seem to think straight
Rejection separates my sides
Believe me and trust me
I don’t want to see you cry
But how can I be there
When you won’t let me try
I know now is not the time
And it’s surely not the place
But if I had one wish to spare
I’d wish to gaze upon your face
I write these poems in vain
I know the answer is clear
But for how much I dream
I cry when you’re not here
It may seem to you like a lie
Or a phrase of old, not new
But from your heart believe me
When I say, “I love you”
