Drifting

Drifting down a long long river,
a river filled with compassion.
the sun warms my skin,
as i slowly understand time.

Deeper within me,
I felt this tugging,
I heard this small voice,
Calling out into the world.

Wishing someone cared,
That they would take the time to listen.
Cooled by the thin air,
I look to the sky for something more.

Not knowing where i would end up,
But being thankful i was moving forward.
Unsure of when i got to my resting place,
i would be greeted with a smile.

But the feelings inside me,
Are all i ever need.
I have now become free.

I understand why i felt the pain,
It was a sacrifice to regain...
The happiness in store for me.

I now live my life,
Accepting new challenges,
Learning from the mistakes,
Taking on new adventures.
As long as you are with me,
There is no path i wouldn't take.

Drifting down a long long river,
Floating at a slower pace then before,
Knowing i don't need anything more.
I look to the sky as the sun goes to sleep,
Witnessing this beautiful transition,
I remain here, with dreams i intend to keep.
