word of advice, get a mousepad. NOW
the teflon feet on the bottom of your mx518 are probably already partially torn, but you can probably save them with a little sanding and some attention to detail.
the mx518 is meant for "soft", mousepads, the cloth kind. you dont need to get anything expensive, but being on that wood desk will tear that mouse up
+ you really don't wanna order "mouse feet" from logitech... :/
