Why Racism will never go away.

I know there is truly a problem out there with racism and people making ignorant remarks. Celebs, politicians, news media.... if they say something that can be used as "racism" they are immediately jumped on by some group or someone who considers themselves as a "leader" of some civil rights movement. My question is... when they take something and that is not a race issue and turn it into one... why is that acceptable? As much as they "preach" hatred towards racism they seem to tend to try and integrate it into things that have nothing to do with race.

Last week LeBron James announced he was going to forgo a re-sign with Cleveland where he has played for 7 years and sign with Miami. In my opinion it's a great career move for him to team up with talent he has not had a chance to ever play with to date. He's still young and has a lot of playing time in his future. the cavs really never gave him what was needed to really win a championship... although I believe they tried.

Obviously, the teams ownership was upset about him leaving the team. The feel a level of betrayal that he did not stay in his home town with the team that worked so hard to kep him.... but when it's all said and done it's a business decision made in a business environment.

The Cavs owner said "He has gotten a free pass," and "People have covered up for (James) for way too long. Tonight we saw who he really is." Publically showing he was really upset with James' decision to leave the team. It's fairly childish for him to comment... but his comments were basically just that.... a display of dissatisfaction.

Then Jesse Jackson wants to jump on board in a situation he has nothing to do with at all. He has no stake in this what so ever. His life is not effected, nor is anyone else's, with the way that the cav owner feels about James leaving..... considering he had worked with him the past 7 years..

Heres what a "civil rights activist" had to say about the owners disappointment..."He speaks as an owner of LeBron and not the owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers. His feelings of betrayal personify a slave master mentality. He sees LeBron as a runaway slave. This is an owner employee relationship -- between business partners -- and LeBron honoured his contract."

What the fuck? Ya, it was a business relationship. And Gilbert lost a member of his business that was a huge draw, helped ticket sales, and basically was a huge part of the teams funding the past 7 years..... but he said nothing at all even close to "slaves"..... not even close. But Jesse Jackson seems to have to bring race into a situation that race is not a factor. If the cavs owner said "fine, he can leave... cause hes black"... tehn ya, speak up. But stop trying to include race into a situation that it's not involved in. Complete bullshit to have someone who promotes "equality" to try and continue the divide of race by using everything he can to bring it up.

But then it's a touchy situation. If I call Jesse Jackson a racist then I'm in the wrong. He stands for equality and fights to stop racism.... at least thats what he says. I say....

Fuck you Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. BOTH of you are a large reason racism is still prevalent in this country. If we would be able to stop hearing from you two wack-jobs... maybe we could actually be able to focus on real racism and some changes could be made. Quit trying to throw racism into everything just to bring your name into the spotlight to try and complete your true agenda.... money and fame.

And to finish my rant... My family was brought here from Ireland as.... get this... slaves. The Irish people were also brought over as slaves into this country. Beaten, torchered, treated like shit for no wages to help basically build the eastern seaboard..... but I wasnt there. I was never a slave. Nor were my parents. And no one that "owned" my ancestors are even alive anymore. They went through hell, but because of that.... I'm in America. Ya, I know in so many ways it's easier to be white then black in this country.... but there has been vast improvements made. In my opinion these two fucktards are only hurting the cause... they arn't helping shit.

There will never be world peace because at no point of time will anyone be on the same page. At no point in time will everyone have the same views.

Also I really honestly don't believe the white man has it better than other race. I believe the Caucasians are the minority of this country.

It's reverse racism in this country now. Mexicans can make fun of any race. Asians can make fun of any race. Blacks can make fun of any race. Whites can make fun of any race, but generally it's perceived as racism. Seriously? There's Latino TV stations, BET, Black History Month, Cinco de Mayo celebrated in America when it has nothing to do with us, and blah blah blah. But if whites had WET, it'd be racist. One thing that makes me mad about people that come to this country illegally is how they don't have respect for the country it self. I study religion quite a bit. And if you read the bible, it is full of racism. They also believed in slavery and promoted the facts that some humans didn't have the same "worth" as others... and neither did woman.

Back in the Egyption times and even Roman times, slaves were of every race and gender.


@ A few post above. The "N" word DOES literally come from black, it has been shortened a few times but it originates from the spanish word "Negro" which directly means black.

Slaves typically were what ever people were conquered by the other. Who was ever more advanced and organized basically "picked on" the less fortunate. Slavery should never just be looked at as a black/white thing or even an America thing. Like Dan said, it's been happening long before there was a US.

Also, if anyone took the time to look at the history of the US, there were many "slaves" that were not black. The Irish and Scottish were basically slaves. Hell, the Irish pretty much built the entire eastern US of the time for small wages and horrid living conditions. Irish people were slaves in every sense of the word when this country was built. The difference?.... it's harder to tell someone who's Irish apart from the typical "white" community.

I will never down play what happened to the Africans in the hands of this countries founding fathers and decades after. It was bad how they were treated and if I could fix the past, I would. The problem is.... it's the past. These fundamental civil right activists continue to fuel the fire and won't let racism die.... even though they claim equality is their agenda.

In this country, if I apply for a job I am qualified for and someone of a non-white race applies for the same job with the same qualifications.... automatically, the job will go to the person of minority. Thats racist.... we just call it "affirmative action".

But what is a minority? "White" is not a race. It's a skin color. I'm Irish. Not all white people are Irish..... and not all black people are African. Its bullshit and racist to be judged on the color of your skin, I agree.... but the color of your skin should not allow you extra benefits in life.

My family tree shows that I had ancestors that were forced from their home onto a boat for the US and forced to work. They didn't come here willingly, but I'm glad their sacrifice paved the way for the future of us. I would never "thank" the people who abused my ancestors.... but on the same notion, it's in the past.

If people would stop playing the "race card" there may be a chance for equality. If you are going to live in the past and harp on what your ancestors went through and bring up that they were brougt here unwillingly.... then go back where they came from and STFU.

It all depends if you believe that the bible was written by genuine prophets, thus the word of god, or by people who were very commendable in their lifestyle but who weren't actually messengers of God. If so it is totally impossible to be brought up in and belong to a racist society and in later life go against it. It will be programmed into them to BE or at least accept racism.

You don't think race played a part in in the bible? According to the bible, "god" was the one who divided the people into 2 races.... Jews and gentiles. If race was never an issue or necessary, why would a god be the one who makes the divide? Also, "god" instructed many killings of people in the bible specific to race/location.


As far as slavery, the bible is chalked full of not only backing slavery, but telling you the rules of slavery and how you should treat slaves, and even how far you are allowed to go in beating them and/or raping them.

*When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property. (Exodus 21:20-21 NAB)

(You can kill your slave by beating him... as long as he lives at least a day after the beating.

*However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way. (Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT)

(Slaves are "property" to be handed down... and not treated with the kind of respect you would your family)



How about the New Testament? Surely slavery isn't in there since most christians shrug off the Old Testament.

I know this is another debate, but if the people that believe in the bible took even a day to read things that you don't hear in church, you would be disgusted. The bible promotes genocide, rape, murder, lying, stealing, racism, slavery, hatred, intolerance, incest, drunkenness, deception,.... and thats just a taste of what "god" promotes in his "holy book".


And lastly... if there was a jesus, I wouldn't go as far as calling him "white".
