Okay so I been in a hunt to try out the "best" anti-virus.
I bought Webroot Spyware with Anti-virus and I can't complain as a customer. My subscription is about to end in 20+ day and so I was going got test out Eset Nod32 as I heard it was at the top of the anti-virus programs. I also heard Avira is a great anti-virus. So my question is what is your take on the "best" anti-virus?

I know smokey will post Avira.

Here are the results of all anti-virus's

So I have to give Avira props. Also noticed Eset Nod32 was in the top percent. Only thing right now that is pushing me to Avira Premium is that the scan speed is rated "fast" and their statistics are just a little higher than Nod32.

EDIT: I moved this into the serious debate section because I know there are going to be debates to which one is better.

Also please post a good valid response not some answer like "Norton is better".

Watch out for Kaspersky it's good and all but it affects your game play and makes it all lagged...unless they updated it and now have a game feature like BitDeffender

@cap'n Yeah Webroot has a gamer feature. Although I never use it and doesn't make me lag. I heard about Bit defender being really awesome actually but I have heard that both Kaspersky and Bit defender take up a lot of CPU. I haven't tried them personally so I am not sure.

Comodo is good because it's an all in one, but the main thing I like about it is the defence plus features, which is better than a real-time virus scanner. Basically, when you run a program for the first time or install something, defence plus will tell you exactly what is happening and if there are any risks, for example if you just installed a program which modifies your registry keys and hooks onto another application it will tell you what its trying to do and give you the option to allow it or deny it. The other thing I really like about it is being able to see network traffic clearly, it will display exactly what is happening on your network, what processes are being used on your network and how much data is being sent / received, along with the IP and protocol is is going to and coming from. I even use it to check people's IP on Xfire when something suspicious is going on. And obviously, the antivirus is very good, it also has it's own firewall, however if you use defence plus properly, no virus or malicious software will even get the chance to hurt your computer.

So in a nutshell, that is why I like comodo and choose it over any other anti virus protection.

Yeah. Webroot had that sort of thing as well. It always popped up whenever a program changed my registry or changed something on start up. It was a bit annoying but there were times when I was like wtf no that is not happening.
