I was proud of my stats till I realized I'm stuck on a low tier till I die or create a new account since I may play 1 or 2 a/w games.. in a month. My stats look sexy but I'm sure they'd be dramatically worse if they'd place me in an appropritae tier lol...

Although I have to laugh at how many other 1.16'rs I find in low tiers with me; I guess a lot of us really don't have any significant a/w skill haha.

Funny thing for me was....I never played but a few games of AW. I started Qlive in closed beta and my tiers were really high for some reason. My duel and TDM were 5's having only played a game or 2 in each. The rest were 4's. After some updates, and getting my ass handed to me many times on the higher tiers, by ranks dropped a ton. I went from a 4 in CA to a 2 in a week. My CTF went from a 4, to a 5, to a 2, to a 3... in about a week as well.

Since the big update, I don't think grease monkey still works... or at least for me it doesn't..... so I don't know where I am now.

ya grease monkey currently dont work... gotta go to an empty server of the gametype u want to see ur skill for and put /serverinfo and look for the skill ranking.

Im not sure. It's odd because I still see tiers 2 up in styles that I have 4's..... I don't get it really.

I think stats are useful because they give you a general idea of how the person plays. And if you're not dumb you can tell if that person is really good or just a stats whore. To me tiers are fake and don't work :/.

EDIT: I think it just goes off of your percentage of wins which is kind of dumb. I can win 30% of my CA games but just because my team sucks and I have 100+ damage doesn't mean I am a lower tier. For example my FFA tier is 3, this is because my FFA win percentage is like 47. I have such a low percentage because I use to FFA with my buddy poros1ty, which is probably one of the top FFA players. It doesn't mean I suck at FFA it just means I played with him a lot lol. Everything else is 4 for me.

I don't like the whole stats thing... Tracking W/L/Q. I do however, like the accuracies and kill tracking for each weapon, and recent game history. Accuracies are useful because you can instantly tell what weapon your opponent is going to try to dominate you with, or if he's going to rely on them evenly. Match history is great because you can see if someone has played ztn 40 times in the past 10 hours. I have no argument with that part. The W/L/Q is absolutely useless because if you play team games (in a skill matched server...) technically if the system worked properly, you'd win 50% and lose 50%. FFA players have the worst stats, because they're the hardest to win (again, if everyone is same skill). People with 5/1 Win/Losses in their stats are just tier slummers because if you played the game correctly, with people on your skill, that would never happen.

Wouldn't the easiest way to equate skill be to just use acc and kdr? I mean, if you are on a server and your kdr is 5/1 lets say, then the system should up you until you balance at a 2/1 or 1/1 ratio. If on the top tier you are getting 2222/1... then thats it... you topped out. Of course it would have to be over maybe a 10-20 game thing to make sure things arnt a fluke... but it seems that would better get people skill. Also weapon proficiency. If someone is hitting 60% rail, as an example, they shouldn't be in servers with people that shoot 30%.

If you took those 2 things and made an an equation, it would get people more skill matched in the same servers.

Yeah but I know some noob who has like 75% rocket usage and 50% overall accuracy because the only weapons he uses is 75% rockets, 10% rail and 15% shotty. Base it on this and that wouldn't really work out. Same goes for kdr, look at incubus. He's the biggest stat whore and he blows ass. Whenever I join a ctf server and I play against him he usually rages. I don't know, just know your place and try to have fun lol.

It wouldnt rate just 1 weapon and the usage % should be part of the equation.

Honestly, krd would be the best way imo. You can't "stat whore" kdr. If you want to go to a private server and raise your kdr to be a higher tier... fine.... when you join a matched tier then you will die a lot. The your tier will lower. I believe thats why there's no sanctioned tier information on the site so people don't do that as much. Stats were scouted a lot at the beginning it seemed. But people less and less bring them up.

Incubus is the biggest slummer I know.
