Im actually thinking about starting to play a bit again after the kids go back to school. I bought the kids a new computer, so it will free mine up for me to play a bit more (in theory).

nice. i was just curious because the pickup bot in the #uscpmpickup channel will provide server info if you give it an ip, and dallas.noghost.net is now a urban terror server. thus, i assumed everything noghost related had died.

also i'm interested to see how playing cpm exclusively has affected my rail only aim in a game that doesn't use a pile of shit for netcode (see: ql)

the netcode in quake live is a turd in comparison to CPMA's q3 netcode. anyone that has played both more than once will agree.

i am ok. i miss playing quake all the time. cpm is 10x funner but the games are really sporadic.

i don't judge. netcode is the part of the multiplayer engine of a game that controls how player models react to lag and such.

Yeah i've heard a bit about q3's delag or something... maybe that's connected? Lag is a bastard in ql, i know that much. Interesting to think you can counteract it...

From what I've heard, Quake Live is supposed to be "unlagged," I personally haven't noticed it, but I'm oblivious..

the ql netcode is really buggy and bad. it's basically optimized .32 baseq3 + xerp, which is terrible

it is not unlagged. unlagged only works in a hitscan only environment (i.e. noghost) otherwise rail/lg/mg/sg cant be balanced.

No Ghost is typically a TDM/Rail community... but there is CTF and a few all weapons players.

it's the mod around which this clan was originally formed. it's heavily iTDM/iCTF.
