Hmmm...=\...Someone wanna help me out?

Yeah...My computer keeps freezing when I play teh Quake. It's really annoying. Someone wanna help me out here? Give me some reasons why it's possibly doing that?

hrmmm..... idno much about this, maybe it got corrupted? you mite have to re-install it.....
or maybe your comp is just shit?.... lol..... try to close down as much as you can in the task manager before opening quake.

Bad video card will do that actually. Try getting the most low-def graphics set on Quake as possible. I think ReAper can you help with that, or someone else that knows settings well.
I have a script that will do the task manager thing for you, but it will close EVERYTHING, not just what task manager shows. Then you can open stuff one at a time. It's called "KillAll" and it was written to "kill" ALL of your programs. I used it once without knowing what I was doing and completely wiped a computer at school. At least they couldn't trace who did it But my freind helped me fix the script so that it just closes stuff instead. I can try and email it, no idea how big it is, and I doubt you have a program that turns written scripts into .exe programs. I'll see what I can do anyways.

Uhm well i would sugess ur to reinstal quake with all basic and addur config after...

Did that to me ( big lags all time ) and tats what did and it worked

high graphics will not cause your quake to "freeze" so downgrading them will most likely solve nothing


if you're pushing your computer to render too good of graphics it'll simply bog down your fps and turn your gameplay to shit


i'd go with the uninstall/reinstall method and see where that takes you - that has solved 85% of the problems i've come across with this game heh

oh, running antivirus/spyware software wouldn't be a bad idea either if it just suddenly started doin this (believe that was also said earlier in the topic too but it doesn't hurt to echo a good idea!)
