fps help

Well usually I can deal with this, but its getting ridiculous

I can play at solid 125 fps for about 30 whole seconds... then it stutters and drops around 30 for the rest of the game

my pc is clean as can be, honestly lol. I run 2 diff virus scans per day and have spybot search and destroy check 3 times a week, and avira antivir guard always on. (and i have made quake3.exe an exception so it doesnt bog it down)

my cfg is very clean as well, its always trimmed and just a shade under 8 kb

Running Windows XP SP2
Intel Core 2 Duo @ 1.46 ghz
2 x 512 DDR2 RAM
Intel 965 Chipset 256 mb VRAM (its a laptop ;o)

Any suggestions? ;x

Well I had 60 fps, and bloodbath helped me out downloading his cfg or one dat looked like his so here ya go

I've already checked them they're all clean just download the second cfg shown to download, and just put ur binds in it and set the visuality the way u like it.

The cfg's are edited, info is in the bottom of each one, it starts with low fps cfg's to high visuality cfg regardless of fps. And also the less Kb the q3config has the better, less lag.

core how many Kb's does ur q3config takes?

my scrim config is 15kb and i still get a 40's ping with 125 fps stable, same with my default config which is 8kb.

the link i gave ya its modified cfgs, with cmds deleted which lowers the kb size -_-

Killah fps = frames per seconds = the less u get the more u lag = the higher the better

I run iTunes, limewire, bittorrent, myspace, facebook, and xfire in-game and I still get a good 125 fps and 60 ping in dallas :>

could I do that on my previous computer? HA. Fucking p.o.s

Is your virus scanner scanning while you play? some scanners start randomly without telling you, and others scan incoming packets. What do you use for anti viral protection?

avira + spybot(not always on) + avg free scanner (never on, just use for the scanner) + norton security scan (never on, just use for the scanner)
