I figured the only to get to know your clan, is to know where it came from. This will be very long, so I will post in sections.
Chapter 1.
In late 2005 Wifey and I had been living in Orlando, Florida for close to 6 months when she said her brother wanted to move from Michigan and live with us. Having met him before and us getting along, I agreed and he drove down. At the time I had a computer I had built 7 years before. The day FRoG moved in, he installed quake on the computer and started playing. I had tried it on a friends computer about 5 years before...It lagged so bad due to lack of ram that I never even passed the mirror on the 1st board in single player. I had no intrest in the game at that point.
Wifey and frog argued alot about the computer. She wanted to play yahoo/pogo games....he wanted to play quake. I was working most of the time, so by the time I got home, I could play my yahoo pool and chat with friends or download music/movies which is all I usually did. On my days off I noticed FRoG would play for hours upon hours on the same map....with out a break. Wifey and I use to make fun of him all the time about being not only addicted to a video game, but dumb for not playing other maps. FRoG tried to show me the game a few times and even get me to play...I declined.
I finally decided to buy another computer so it would ease the tention in the house. It worked for a little while till I came home and saw FRoG playing on my computer and not wifeys. Was time for FRoG to get a job. He did and mainly played on his days off.
FRoG had told me he was in a "clan" called FYA and was having fun. He tried often to get me to play, I still declined.
I deleted quake off my computer and told him to play on hers, and she could use my computer if he was using hers. I ended up deleting quake about 15 times off my computer cause he would reinstall it after I went to work on his days off. Thankfully, after working for a while, he was able to buy his own computer.
We moved from our apartment to a house in December 2006. FRoG finally had his own room and I was happy to not have to hear the annoying sound of chat beeps and railjumps once and for all. Again, all he did on his days off was play Quake. And again, wifey and I made fun of him for it.
FRoG had made some friends at his work and asked if he could have a party one night. I didnt work the next day so was fine with it. He was also off that day and asked again if I wanted to play quake before everyone came over. I finally said yes. He installed it on my computer along with nemesis, a switcher and Xfire. My 1st server was the old CHS server. I managed to get 1 spawn melt so I think I had 1 in 15. After the game he caem to the other room to explain some more options and controls. He said he would make my name with color, so to pick something. I picked Guinness. It was green, white, and red. (didnt have orange damn it) We played in the CHS server till his friends showed up. He left, I stayed. I played about 10 games in multi maps. I think the best I had was 10 in a game. I was really bad.
For the next few weeks or so, I played off and on. After a while, I found my self playing alot more often once I saw Xfire had a stats page. Ima stat Whore!.
FRoG had left FYA a few months back and they had died. Atom!c started 2k7. CHS and 2k7 was the only clan tags I had ever seen. I kept playing at the CHS server and FRoG kept playing aswell, teaching me servers and about clans. I started to get better a little bit at a time. We noticed HCS and 2k7 having "Scrims" once in a while. All that meant is I couldnt play. That sucked!. I asked FRoG about "scrims" and he explained its a match between 2 clans to see who plays better. I wanted in on that. I went to the CHS website for the 1st time to see if I could post to join. Blah, invite only. I tried to talk to Atom!c a few times, he didnt reply when I asked about joining. So I gave up trying to join, hoping someone from CHS would invite me, never happened. On March 22 2007 FRoG said, "maybe we should make a clan so we can scrim CHS and 2k7."
That sounded good to me, so we went to the garage for a beer and a smoke to figure out a name and a tag. I had about 300 ideas, cant remember any of them anymore, but I had a ton. FRoG said "pwp, pain without pleasure if we lose, pleasure without pain if we win". I told him I didnbt care for the name too much and to keep thinking. He finished his smoke about 3 minutes before me and went inside. I finished mine and went in to see he had already made tags for him and me and saved them. I fugured what was done was done. I made a new xfire name and *pWp* was officially born.
First thing was to scrim CHS like we had wanted. We asked, they laughed, said no. We tried on many occasions to get them to scrim, they declined. One day we asked Atom!c if he wanted to. They were the other reason we made the clan, was to scrim them. He said sure. He had a home based server in CA which actually was well made. We got raped. 25-2 1st game, 25-2 the 2nd. I was very nervous, but still had a blast. I was officially addicted to scrims.
FRoG and I scrimmed alot vs 2k7 and a little against a few other clans and never won. CHS still wouldnt scrim us, so we gave up asking.
1st request to join *pWp* was someone named "snowz". Frog said he would have to tryout. I had no idea what that meant but followed frog to the o2o server due to it being empty. They played, snowz lost...but FRoG said he was in. We could finally scrim 3v3, and we did. Alot. And lost. Alot. Snowz started fading in and out due to the fact we didnt have a website or server. He finally disapeared and it was back to us.
FRoG went inactive due to work for about 2 months, and I still tagged up every game. I started to miss scrims alot so askeg Suger*Coated if I could join his and Dreameaters clan, TGZ. They said yes and we scrimmed like mad for a little while. I dont remember the reason I left, but I did. I went back to pwp tags. Frog still being inactivfe, and me still wanting to scrim....I went as a T for 2k7. Being a T for 2k7 really meant alot to me, but I had differances with a few members who I felt too the game to serious....knowing I wasnt gonna make the vote, I pulled my app and went back once again to pwp tags.
Dreameater saw me one day and asked if I was getting a server soon. It was the next step in making the clan grow, so I really started looking into it. I didnt wanna pay someone for 1 server every month when I could have a server built and host as many as I wanted. I asked someone to build me one who did it for a living, and he said he would....for the right price. We decided on a fair amount...but it would take me a while to get the money together.
I begged Nucking to join pwp due to the fact we had become good friends. He did, and we played in alot of scrims. I think we actually won a few. He left as well as a few others who joined that I really dont remember their names who came and went due to not having a server or website.
I knew it was time to get the site up atlease. In October 2007 we officially launched "www.pwp.mygoo.org" after a few weeks looking for the right forum site. We only had 1 pwp member besides FRoG and I at the time, Donta. On the day the site went live, I snet the link to everyone I knew to have them join. I started the ball rolling to where we are today.
After a long time of begging, Nucking agreed to come back to pwp as did dreameater. Sugarcoated was soon to follow. We had also picked up a friend of theirs, Torch, along the way. It was going slow, but was going. Knowing the only way we could stay afloat was a server.....I pushed the guy building it to hurry. He did, and we got our 1st server. Thats when we started to grow.
Nucking was known very well in alot of servers, so I asked him to recruit people for the clan. Becasue what happened with trying to scrim CHS and the problem I had as a T in 2k7....my main goal was to have a clan who excepted people no matter how good they were, or if they were skilled....as long as they were fun.
Nucking was the best recruiter a clan could have. All I had to do is look at a server, see a name I saw before and say "go get them". He did. Alot.
Pornfish was the 1st. I had played him in dallas alot, never talked, but I knew he was good. I asked Nucking to get him for the clan....some how he did. That was one of the 1st big additions to pwp.
Next was presents and Thong. He got them as well. We started letting everyone that we all knew about the site, they all started joining and posting. Things were going great.
One day out of the blue, Super*Hooligan posted to join. I had played him a ton in CHS and Killer servers and he also was damn good. I was excited he wanted to join our noob clan and let him in.
Neko and Killbox, joined soon after. We had a growing clan and 3 servers. It was going great.
Then things went even better. Reaper from UE quit to join pwp. It was amazing to me to have him onboard. But, it didnt last long.
Around that time we hit a few problems. A few hackers were in the clan and were caught. I was very upset. Everything I worked so hard for as did others was gonna crash due to some kids who decided cheating was better then just having fun. One day I talked to reaper about it. He said "All clans go through this, its the best clans who make it past it". We did. We are still here. Reaper was a big part of pwp's growth as well as Jinx, Wolf, Sketch, Atom!c, and after the fact.......CHS.

And just a note, at the time I joined, Presents and Futs were my only friends in quake, and I remember me and presents having our tryouts and joining the same exact day.
haha but good story!!!!!
game we always got mad at eachother lol it was silly. So anyhow quake was installed on my computer because Tad's little sister she is 12 now well she would always play with them she wasn't to bad either. SO 1 night being 7 months pregnant i decided to try and play and i got sooooo dizzy i was like screw this game so at this point i still thought the game was stupid. So finally i had the 2nd kid and a few months later in October i thought well shit let me make a xfire name and just try this again so i did. Well i started out dizzy again but than was told i could change mouse speed and FOV which helped me so much! so this all sounded fun to me and i joined the forum, well so it started and for me things started out so shitty i couldn't hit anything and i always got shot in the back! So i Just continued on dying and getting like 5 in 17 low low scores but I was getting better everyday so I continued on. Anyhow I am glad i started to play and im happy we have this clan so everyone can have a good time. We hope to have many more fun times in the future!
