Searching for a game

Hey guys, i havent been around the gaming world in quite sometime, reason being i have a rather shitty internet connection and cannot play any online games otherwise i would still be around playing quake.

Ive been trying to find a new game to play but my search hasnt gotten me anywhere. Its been a few days and i still havent found THE game ive been looking for yet so im posting here hoping to find some help.

What im looking for is :

A single player (offline game)

A sandbox styled game with skills you need to work on (like on runescape or reddead redemption)

Gaming on Windows XP, a rather low performance laptop.

I played the game before, it was fun for a whole 5 minutes then I got bored. Unless the paid one is completely different I won't play it lol.

minecraft is an AMAZING game. after thr 1.8 update, if you get bored playing survival (like me) then play creative... if you still get bored find a server, as there are thousands and as a server owner myself i know there are so many plugins that a server can have, you can practically play cod on minecraft...

at the moment i am making a 125 block square compound in which there are bunkers, a village and forests, to use in conjunction with a mob arena plugin, where you fight waves of mobs. if you get bored in single player then pm me and i will give you the ip address when we are done

honest it's gonna be sweet. me and my mates are making an underground cave system in it too, and scatter some reward rooms/ easter eggs around the place.

It will make you shit yourself tho...

should be ready in about 1 or 2 weeks, as we are taking a break atm. The first map we made was a cemetary, with tight corridors and torture rooms, but the combat sucked as only one person could fight at a time in the corridors. So now we are going for an open arena (link not intended xD).

i dont really mod, but as far as texture packs go i like standard def (as my computer has a quite bad graphics card) and simple, so i would recommend "clean design pack".

If you tell me what sort of texture pack you like i could suggest a few

I just got the clean design pack My computer also has poor graphics so i wasnt looking for anything too complicated. There seem to be so many different textures and mods that i figured everyone used them instead of playing the regular thing (kind of like quake) Ive seen some RPG mods and other things like that, and they seemed pretty interesting but i havent found one particular one that seems like the right choice and i dont want to get into a lot of different ones because i will probably loose interest in the game if that happens :o

perhaps when you say rpg mods you mean plugins?

what i mean is that servers often include plugins, which change the game slightly... sorta multi player plugins.

Not sure i have ever come across an rpg mod though. My advice is go for it and try some different mods, but you are right that it can get pretty complicated.

Search for world edit, and download the sp version...

I've been playing quite a bit as well

I have a cracked version so I can't connect online, but I'm gonna get the full retail this week. I just wanted to test it out before I bought it. I assume I can transfer my saved game folder from the cracked to the full.

I'll zip up my saved game and post it this week if anyone wants to check mine out. I've done a ton of building, but died a shit load and at times was not able to get back to pick up my drops....so it's been a pain at times. But I am almost done with my cart track above the trees to go from my house to a mountain range far away. Kinda neat that you can build almost anything. Once I get my cart track foundation done, I'm gonna eventually make it a rollercoaster

Its definitively worth the money! but hey cant go wrong with free ! I have a cracked version of 1.8, id like to get a newer crack once the game gets a little more developed or maybe even pay for it once i can get an internet connection that will allow it! If youre going to put your world up id deff take a look at it
